We have had the honor to interview a champion that, to the first marathon of her life, run and won it at the time of 2 hours 26'43", "not so bad"!!!. We are speaking about the Hungarian - Aniko Kalovics (Szombately ), 29,running since 2 years for CO-VER based in Verbania, the latest winner of the Carpi "Marathon of Italy".

She has good times in all the distances: 15'10" on the 5.000 meters, 31'40" on the 10.000 meters and 1h 9'16" on the half marathon. We meet Aniko on the track of the stadium "Curotti" oinDomodossola, where today she trains together with her trainer as well manager Zsolt Zsoder, Hungarian too. At the same place we found Paul Kimugul in clean resumption after the accident to the right knee occurred during the last training in Kenya few months ago, improvement also underlined by the test of 20km run at the City Marathon in Milan, Vasyl Matviychuck classified 5° and Antonino Liuzzo that accompanied them for the whole run in bicycle, currently Liuzzo acts as a trainer in the COVER jouniores CO-VER team

Hi Aniko tells us about your great shape

- The result in marathon has been great , because it was the 1° marathon that I raced; the time of 2.26'43" is also the new- Hungarian record. I am very happy for it and hows I have managed the competition, despite the appointment of the preceding week to the world championships of run on road to Debrecen (where Aniko has now conquered a good 11° place in 1 6'20" for 20 km. n.d.r.).

Are you satisfied about the results of this year?
- Yes, has been a positive season for me, because to the beginning of the year I have won the Cinque Mulini, then the Stramilano and also numerous other road competitions. Then this great result in the marathon of Carpi: in a week I have lowered 2 Hungarian records in the marathon and in the 20 km. And it's not ended yet, because in December I'm gonna run the European Cross Championships in San Giorgio su Legnano ( and I would like to be there in great shape).

Is San Giorgio su Legnano the most important objective of the season?

- The most important objective has been the Marathon of Italy. Obviously any other good result is well accepted.

Do you have scheduled some other marathon?
- Surely I will race a great marathon in spring, almost certainly in Italy, because I have been really well.

Could you tell us where?
- I could tell you Rome, but I am not sure yet.

Aniko, which feelings have you tried in the marathon of Carpi?
- Everything as gone well, only to the 30° km I have had a small decrease because I have started to hear the mental tiredness; however I have succeeded in overcoming well thas moment of difficulty thanks to my companion Zsolt Zsoder who known how to morally help me.

Tell us as and when you have begun to race?
- I have begun to race when I was 14 years old. I often raced stronger than boys, I was tall and thin. In the first cross country in which I competed, I beat older girls than me. Since I was a child competiton has belonged to me.

Do you remember yourself your first competition?
– No, I don't sincerely remember it, I only that the competition was o 5 km..

Have you practised some other sports?
- I practised swimming before starting to race. I swam every day, about 8 -10 km. When I have begun to race, for one year I have practised swimming and run together.

When you have stopped swimming?
–When I was 15.

Have you started with the cross, the track or the road?
– With the road, because in Hungary they organize many road competitions.

How many kilometers do you race in a week?
- I usually run 120-125 weekly. In preparation of the marathon, I have also come to race 200. I prefer to train on the soft surfaces as the grass, more comfortable than asphalt.

Do you prefer the road-runs or track? Which distance do you feel particularly your?
– Surely the runs on road, that gives me more satisfactions and pleasure; the distance that I prefer are the 10 km.

When you are not around the world to compete, where do you reside?
- In Hungary (Szombately) the almost of the year, there is a nice place with a big wood and a lake where I can train really well, it is the perfect place to race. For 5 - 6 weeks a year I move to St. Moritz to develop the preparation in altitude. For long periods I live and train in Italy, Domodossola, where I get ready in track before the Italian competitions. Here I have known a lot of people, that I hope comes to support me in San Giorgio Su Legnano.

Our last question: wich your dream?
- To win great marathons

That's all for our nice talk with Aniko. Thanks for your kindness, best wishes for the next competitive appointments
